Terms of Use

1. What GoActiveTrack does

GoActiveTrack is an independent companion app that reads your Garmin inReach satellite tracker positions from Garmin's public MapShare service and plots them on a map. We don't operate any servers; the app runs entirely on your device and talks directly to Garmin.

2. Independence from Garmin

GoActiveTrack is not made by Garmin Ltd., is not affiliated with Garmin, and is not endorsed or sponsored by Garmin. Garmin, inReach, and MapShare are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. used here only to indicate compatibility. Each Garmin inReach device requires its own active Garmin satellite subscription, purchased separately from Garmin. We do not include or resell any Garmin service.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use GoActiveTrack on any iPhone or iPad you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store Usage Rules. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, or sublicense the app.

4. Subscription

GoActiveTrack Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription with the following plans:

• Monthly — $12.99 per month with a 3-day free trial
• Annual — $59.99 per year with a 3-day free trial

Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. Prices are charged in your local currency at the rate Apple lists in the App Store at the time of purchase. We may change prices going forward; Apple will notify you and ask you to opt in before any price increase to an existing subscription.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel anytime in the iPhone Settings app: tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then GoActiveTrack. Cancellation stops auto-renewal at the end of the current billing period; we don't pro-rate mid-cycle refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we have no visibility into your billing and cannot issue refunds directly.

6. Acceptable use

Use GoActiveTrack only for lawful purposes and only with Garmin MapShare feeds you have permission to view. Do not use the app to track people who have not consented, to harass, to circumvent technical protections on Garmin's service, or in any way that violates Garmin's own terms of service.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

GoActiveTrack is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Garmin's MapShare service will always be reachable. GoActiveTrack is not an emergency communication tool. Do not rely on it for safety-of-life decisions. Use your Garmin inReach device's built-in SOS function for emergencies.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoActiveTrack and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the app. Our total cumulative liability for any direct damages will not exceed the amount you've paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

10. Termination

You can stop using the app and cancel your subscription at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that creates risk for us, Garmin, or other users. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any unused portion of a subscription.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Alaska, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
